Twine Bangles

I have just arrived home from a wonderful weekend away in New Zealand at the Local OnStage event for Stampin’ Up! and wanted to share with you some of the gifts I made for my Stampin’ Up! friends.

Those of you who follow my blog regularly will know that I love a good 3D craft and often make things a little ‘outside’ the box with our gorgeous Stampin’ Up! products so making a bangle was the perfect project for me.  I used our wonderful Stampin’ Up! twine to wrap some cheap bangles as my gift and they were so simple to make.

Now I couldn’t just give the bangles without some lovely packaging …. so with a little help from my sewing machine I make these adorable gift pouches using our Kraft cardstock and some of the fabulous Glassine Sheets.  I cut the Kraft cardstock 4″ wide and 6″ tall (you get 6 from one sheet) and score it at 4 1/2″ and used the leaf die from the Botanical Builder Framelits set to create the lovely top.  The Glassine Sheet is cut to fit the front at 4″ x 4 1/2″

I made a few in Blushing Bride but also decided to make some in Night of Navy which looked just as lovely …

You can use any bangles you like but I used the Indian Bangle you get in bundles for about $4 which worked really well.  The twine is just held in place with a little super glue (the brush type is easiest to use).

I made the packaging for the Night of Navy bangles in exactly the same way as for the Blushing Bride ones but just swapped out the colours I used for the little banners.

The finishing touch was the greeting using the fun Scenic Saying Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!  I loved making these gifts and was so glad I was able to give them to a few of my wonderful Stampin’ Up! friends.
