Well I have been busy creating yet another ‘shaped’ card and this time I thought I would try a handbag. I have done a lot of 3D handbags over the last couple of years but had yet to try making just a card. So as October is a very busy birthday month for me I decided that I needed a new and exciting card to give to my girlfriends. They have seen most of my existing creations and even make them for their friends so I really did need to do something I had not done before and this is the result!
At first I wasn’t going to make a template but after a fair few hours of ‘playing’ with the design, I was just having sooo much fun that I thought you might like to have a ‘play’ with this one for yourself. So pop over to my ‘Tutorials‘ page if you are interested. Below are just some of those that I have created from this template. I have a few details on each one just so you can see what I have used.
River Rock and Island Indigo using the Style 1 front with the variation top and and bottom panel. Some embossing and a ribbon slider for embellishing.
This is the Style 2 bag cut from Comfort Cafe DSP. The extra embellishment on the lapels is a itty bitty label punch shape. The logo bar in the middle is made using the ticket punch.
Soft Suede and Midnight Muse colour combination with a little stamping using the image from the Creative Elements stamp set. The handle is attached with a little ribbon and some jewelry fines.
Real Red Polka Dot DSP is just so cute! This is mostly using the Style 1 elements, the only difference is this has the Style 2 handle attached.
This is the Style 1 front and it is embossed and spritz with a little Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. The lapels and corners are from the Style 2 handbag and they are cut from some Brushed Gold card stock.
A really simple black bag with just the top panel embossed with clear embossing powder to give it a shine! Adding a row of rhinestones and a new Vintage Faceted Button for that finishing touch. You can even just use ribbon to create handles if you like.
This is the variation top and bottoms for Style 1 and a Stampin’ Up! ribbon slide finished off the bag perfectly. The variation handle is attached at the back and secured with brads.
Midnight Muse and Early Expression makes a lovely colour combination. Some stamping with the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set, a little paper piercing and you are done.
The possible combinations of colours, elements and embellishments for these cards is almost endless and just like my High Heel card I really hope you enjoy making your very own! Here is the video on how they go together.
Can’t wait to see your recreations!
