Another card for another teenage girl – yes there are lots of birthdays happening in my daughter’s friend circle which gives me even more excuses to create (not that I really need an excuse to get inky!).
This time my ‘brief’ was: Black is her favourite colour. Yes a very small brief but I think I was able to come up with a really fun and classic looking card, not too girlie but a touch of ‘pretty’ with the scattering of flower images. Now unlike my more recent cards where I have ‘boasted’ about using only one stamp set for my creation – this masterpiece was a result of pulling out loads of stamps from my collection and hoping that they all worked together. I actually found that the images in a lot of the stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! really work wonderfully together … really I am not that surprised everything about Stampin’ Up! just seems to work!
The one thing I can say is that this card has only one ink pad – Archival Basic Black – now if you don’t have this ink pad yet and are thinking about a new black, this is one that I can not recommend highly enough. It inks up stamps wonderfully and produces gorgeous images – by far the best black ink I have used in ages.
I have provided a list of stamp sets that I used in this creation but really this could easily be done with any stamp sets in your collection. Have a scout through your collections and try and pick a ‘theme’ like ‘butterflies’ or ‘flowers’ you will be amazed how many images you can pull together. For a little further inspiration here is another version of this card using the star images I also found in my collection.
