End of another month and time again to great my monthly thank you cards to mail out to my customers and this month I decided to use the Basket of Wishes stamp set from Stampin’ Up! which I just recently purchased from the 2016 Occassions Catalogue. This was a stamp set that I looked over on my first run through the catalogue as I really wasn’t sure that I wanted another ‘colouring-in’ set. However, I was tempted and so glad I grabbed it because I think it looks fabulous without having to colour it – great for quick and easy cards. The bonus is that I can add whatever I want to the gorgeous selection of baskets and crates so I get a load of different looks from one stamp set which I love.
As you can see I stamped the little punnet in the set in Soft Suede ink onto a circle of watercolour paper (I was almost thinking of colouring it in!) and added the little flowers to the punnet. I loved the image enough how it was so decided to leave it as it was. The accent colour for this card (Watermelon Wonder) is taken from the Affectionately Yours Speciality DSP that I used on the bottom panel. The Watermelon Wonder scalloped circle just adds the smallest touch of colour behind my stamped image (you NEED the Layering Circles Framelits Dies they make this soooo wonderful) as does the “thanks” greeting from the Weather Together stamp set that I stamped onto a scrap piece of water colour paper. So once I made my first card for the month I decided to mix it up and try using different colour variations based on all the other lovely pieces of DSP in this pack.
As usual I grabbed my layout inspiration from this week’s Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch, now off to send some happy mail!
