Edible Flowers!

Happy Birthday Cathy!

And now I can finally reveal what I have been spending my time creating over the last little while.  I have managed to make this gorgeous flower arrangement based on mini chupa chups and the Blossom Party Die from Stampin’ Up!.  I was going to sit and type a really long tutorial on how I put this together but instead have some photos for you as well as a youtube video ‘tour’ and ‘how to’ on assembling the flowers.  The little matching gift card also appears in the video and there is a separate video on how to make these super fun closing cards …. but on to the main event.

From the top you can see that there are 33 mini chupa chups in this collection (one for each fabulous year Cathy!).  There are also some butterflies and even a few lady bugs scattered about for extra ‘bling’.

The flower for the top is made from the Flower Fold die and then the ‘Friendly Words’ jumbo wheel was run across the larger flower at the back.  The 33 was cut from the Junior Type Alphabet Sizzlets and then with the add of some Heat and Stick powder I managed to get a whole load of red glitter on those.

In this close up you hopefully can see some the detail of the butterflies as well as spot some of the cute little lady bugs (basic pearls coloured red with permanent markers).  The grass at the bottom is hand cut, yes I am crazy but you have to admit it looks sooooo sweet.  Check out my youtube video by clicking the link to my channel on the right hand side bar.  These are so easy to make the only skill you need is time (not sure time is a skill but that is how I am calling it!).  Hope you are inspired to make one of these for yourself one day.

What a totally fantastic project Tanya. I bet the recipient was blown away with it. Love everything about it, especially all the little details – like the pearl ladybugs – that make it super special. Inky hugs, Di
PS: I’m really behind on my blog surfing, so haven’t seen much lately, but one of my friends & customers saw it & said I HAD to go look, as it was so great…so thanks very much from her too.
